About Equinistics

Equinistics LLC resulted from the frustrating process of buying a yearling. The Equinistics LLC President, Rob Bingel, sought to purchase his first race horse, a standardbred, in 2003. The auction catalog contained an overwhelming amount of information. Rob felt that as an owner he would like to enter the auction with an idea of how the yearlings in the catalog should be ranked by final expected sales price, at least on paper. He would then adjust the yearlings up or down at the auction based upon what his trainer thought of the yearling in person.

Rob has spent the past 5 years analyzing both harness and thoroughbred auctions, honing the model used to generate "The Primer Report™" for sale on this website for the September 2009 yearling auction at Keeneland.

Rob has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from MIT, a master of engineering degree in chemical engineering from Cornell University, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He lives in Vermont with his wife and two children.

As a disclaimer, Equinistics LLC has no financial stake in the outcome of the 2009 yearling auction at Keeneland. Equinistics LLC’s only objective is to provide as good a model and report as possible.

Equinistics LLC wants satisfied customers. Please contact Rob at bingel@equinistics.com with any questions.

5,500 yearlings at the auction means less time for buyers to evaluate each horse. The number of choices can be overwhelming.  Let Equinistics help you in the buying process by providing you guidance as to how the yearlings rank "on paper".

Thank you to all of you who made the 2008 Keeneland report a success. It was a pleasure to meet you, and your encouragement made my efforts worthwhile. Thank you.
